Oyster 400 Count Egyptian Cotton Bedding – Natural, Balanced Luxury with a Soft Neutral Finish

If you want bedding that feels calm, elegant and effortlessly stylish, Oyster 400 Count Egyptian Cotton Bedding is a perfect choice. Oyster sits beautifully between warm and cool tones, giving you a soft neutral shade that works across almost any bedroom style.

Made from Egyptian cotton sateen, this range combines that natural oyster tone with a smooth, soft finish that feels noticeably more refined than standard bedding. At 400 thread count, it delivers one of the most trusted balances of comfort, durability and breathability available.

If you want bedding that looks considered without feeling overdone, this is exactly the kind of upgrade that works.

Why Oyster Is One of the Easiest Colours to Live With

Oyster is a true neutral. It is softer than grey, warmer than white and more subtle than ivory. That makes it incredibly versatile and easy to style in almost any bedroom.

It works with warm tones, cool tones and everything in between. Whether your room leans modern, classic or somewhere in the middle, oyster bedding blends in effortlessly while still adding a touch of quiet luxury.

If you want a bed that always looks right, regardless of how the room evolves, oyster is a very smart choice.

        Made from Egyptian Cotton Sateen

This range is made from Egyptian cotton sateen, giving the fabric a smoother, softer and more refined finish than standard cotton bedding. The sateen weave creates a subtle sheen that enhances the overall look of the bed while keeping the feel soft and comfortable.

It is woven from long staple cotton fibres, which are known for producing finer, stronger yarns. This helps give the bedding its smooth feel, durability and long-lasting quality.

The result is bedding that feels just as good as it looks.

Why 400 Thread Count Is the Ideal Balance

400 thread count is widely regarded as one of the best all-round choices for bedding. It provides a soft, smooth feel while remaining breathable and practical for everyday use. Experts consistently place high-quality bedding in the 300–500 range for the best balance of comfort and durability.

That means you get luxury without heaviness, and comfort without compromise.

It is one of the reasons this thread count is used so widely in high-quality bedding collections.

A Complete Bedding Range for a Cohesive Look

This oyster range includes everything needed to create a fully coordinated bed. Pillowcases, fitted sheets, flat sheets and duvet covers are all available in the same soft neutral tone, helping the whole bed feel balanced and complete.

When everything matches, the bed looks more refined. It feels more considered and more like a finished space rather than a collection of separate pieces.

It is one of the simplest ways to elevate your bedroom.

Oxford Duvet Covers for a Tailored Finish

The range includes Oxford style duvet covers, adding a subtle border that gives the bed a more structured and elegant look.

This detail helps create that high-end, hotel-inspired finish without making the bed look overly formal. It adds just enough definition to make the whole setup feel more premium.

It is a small detail, but it makes a big difference.

Choose the Right Fitted Sheet Depth

This range includes 12 inch, 15 inch and 18 inch deep fitted sheets, making it suitable for a wide variety of mattresses, including deeper modern beds and those with toppers.

Getting the depth right is essential. A properly fitting sheet stays in place, looks neater and feels more comfortable. A shallow sheet can pull loose and ruin the look of the bed.

With the right depth, everything feels more secure and more refined.

Softness and Comfort You Notice Every Night

The smooth sateen finish gives this bedding a soft, comfortable feel that makes getting into bed more enjoyable. It feels calm, breathable and gently luxurious without being heavy.

The oyster tone also adds to that feeling, helping create a bedroom that feels relaxed and balanced.

This is where good bedding really makes a difference.

        Easy Care for Everyday Living

This bedding is machine washable and tumble dry safe, making it easy to maintain as part of your normal routine.

Luxury bedding should not be difficult to care for. This range is designed to give you that premium feel without adding extra work.

7 Year Guarantee for Added Confidence

This range comes with a 7 year guarantee, giving you confidence in the quality and durability of the fabric.

It is designed to last, holding its feel and appearance over time.

Oyster Works in Almost Any Bedroom

Oyster is one of the most versatile colours in bedding. It works beautifully in modern spaces, traditional interiors and neutral colour schemes. It pairs easily with wood, upholstery, metallic accents and soft furnishings.

It also adapts well through the seasons. It feels light and fresh in summer, and when layered with throws and cushions, it still feels warm and inviting in winter.

If you want bedding that will always feel relevant and stylish, oyster is a very safe and very smart choice.

Why buy Egyptian cotton bedding over normal cotton? Its more expensive but is it worth the extra premium you have to fork out just to have the best sheets? Well in short we would say yes, on first inspection there might not be some very noticeable differences, but when you have used them for a short while you will never go back to standard cotton sheets. But what makes them so expensive I hear you ask? Well the very best cotton is grown on the lush banks of the Nile delta in Egypt, the cotton fields are very well established and they are still hand picked to ensure that the cotton buds are not damaged, they are then sorted by size and quality, the very best and larger buds are reserved for the higher thread count sheets as the longer staple fibres are required to make the stronger yarns needed for percale and sateen weaves.

When is comes to weaving, there are two types that are mainly used for plain cotton sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers. Percale is the more well known weave that is mainly now only used for fabrics with a thread count under 300 threads per square inch, this traditional fabric used both the same amount of yarns on the weft and on the warp, for example a 200 thread count fabric would have 100 yarns on the weft and 100 yarns on warp, to make a really high thread count like a 1000 count cotton fabric would be almost commercially impossible without the use of a sateen weave. A sateen weave will use the same looms as the percale weaves but instead of using the same amount of yarns on the warp and weft they use half the amount on the warp to keep the speed of the loom intact. So for example a 300 thread count sateen weave would have 200 yarns on the warp and 100 yarns on the weft.

        Egyptian cotton

A percale weave would have a matt finish whereas a sateen weave has that slight sheen to it, which looks stunning laid on the bed and what makes that 5 star hotel room looks so inviting, as it’s all about aesthetics and this is where a sateen weave wins out. So what we are trying to say is that it is not the weave that makes the fabric so expensive, it’s the quality of the cotton, they way it is harvested and the care and quality required to keep it from being brittle. It is more organically grown too, no fertilisers and harsh caustic chemicals are used, hand picked for extra attention to detail, this results in a fabric that really does last the length of time, will look and feel just as good in 10 years’ time, wash after wash. So if you have never tried Egyptian cotton before, treat yourself, it’s well worth it.
