1200 Thread Count Ultimate Cotton Sateen Egyptian Cotton Pillowcases
If you are looking for the ultimate in luxury bedding, the 1200 thread count Egyptian cotton pillowcases from our Ultimate Cotton Sateen range are designed to deliver a truly premium sleep experience. Made from 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton and woven into a rich sateen fabric, these pillowcases offer exceptional softness, durability, and an elegant hotel-quality finish.
With their smooth, silk-like feel and subtle sheen, these pillowcases bring a sense of indulgence and refinement to your bed. They are crafted for those who want more than just standard bedding — they are for those who want to experience true comfort, depth, and luxury every night.
Whether you are upgrading your bedroom or completing a high-end bedding set, these pillowcases are a perfect choice.
Why choose 1200 thread count Egyptian cotton?
Thread count is often associated with luxury, and at 1200 thread count, these pillowcases sit at the top end of the bedding spectrum. However, what really matters is the quality of the cotton used.
These pillowcases are made from long-staple Egyptian cotton, which is known for its strength, softness, and durability. The longer fibres create a smoother, more refined fabric that becomes even softer over time.
The 1200 thread count sateen weave enhances this further, producing a fabric that feels silky, dense, and indulgent, while still remaining breathable and comfortable.
This combination results in pillowcases that feel luxurious, look elegant, and perform beautifully night after night.
Silk-like sateen finish for a luxury feel
One of the standout features of these pillowcases is the sateen weave. Unlike percale, which has a crisp feel, sateen is designed to feel smooth and silky against the skin.
This creates a more indulgent sleeping experience, similar to what you would expect from high-end hotels. The fabric drapes beautifully, reflects light subtly, and adds a refined finish to your bed.
If you want your bedding to feel soft, smooth, and luxurious rather than crisp and cool, sateen is the ideal choice.
Deep, heavyweight hotel-quality feel
These 1200 thread count pillowcases have a substantial, heavyweight feel that immediately sets them apart from lower thread count options. They feel rich, dense, and reassuringly luxurious.
This is the kind of bedding you notice as soon as you touch it. It feels premium, well-made, and designed for comfort.
The added weight also helps the pillowcases sit beautifully on the pillow, enhancing the overall appearance of your bed.
Breathable and temperature regulating
Despite their high thread count, these pillowcases remain breathable thanks to the natural properties of Egyptian cotton. The fabric allows air to circulate, helping regulate temperature and keep you comfortable throughout the night.
This helps prevent overheating while still providing a soft, cosy feel. It is one of the key advantages of natural cotton over synthetic alternatives.
The result is a pillowcase that feels cool in warmer months and comfortably warm in cooler conditions.
Available styles to suit your bedroom
These pillowcases are available in a range of styles to suit different bedroom looks and preferences:
- Housewife: A clean, classic finish with no border for a timeless look
- Oxford: A decorative border for a more luxurious, tailored appearance
- Continental Square: Ideal for layering and creating a premium hotel-style bed
This flexibility allows you to style your bed exactly how you want, whether you prefer a simple look or a more layered, designer feel.
Standard and luxury sizing options
These pillowcases are available in multiple sizes to suit your bedding setup:
- Standard: 50cm x 75cm
- Oxford: 50cm x 75cm + border
- Continental: 65cm x 65cm
This ensures a perfect fit for both standard pillows and larger statement cushions.
Durability that improves over time
One of the biggest advantages of high-quality Egyptian cotton is its durability. The long-staple fibres create a stronger fabric that resists wear and tear better than lower-quality cotton.
These pillowcases are designed to last, maintaining their softness, structure, and appearance even after repeated washing.
In fact, like all premium cotton bedding, they tend to become softer over time, enhancing their comfort with every use.
Perfect for sensitive skin and hair
The smooth sateen finish of these pillowcases makes them gentle on both skin and hair. The reduced friction helps minimise irritation and can help prevent hair breakage compared to rougher fabrics.
This makes them an excellent choice for anyone looking to improve not just their sleep, but their overall comfort and skin feel.
Who are these pillowcases best for?
These pillowcases are ideal for customers who want a high-end, luxury bedding experience. They are perfect for those who appreciate the finer details and want their bed to feel as good as it looks.
They are especially suited to:
- Luxury bedroom setups
- Master bedrooms
- High-end guest rooms
- Interior-designed homes
If you are investing in premium bedding, these pillowcases are an essential finishing touch.
Why these pillowcases stand out
There are many pillowcases on the market, but not all are created equal. What sets these apart is the combination of genuine Egyptian cotton, high thread count, and a premium sateen weave.
While some high thread count products can feel heavy or overly dense, these pillowcases maintain a balance between luxury and comfort. The quality of the cotton ensures they remain soft, breathable, and enjoyable to sleep on.
This is not just about thread count — it is about the overall quality of the fabric and the experience it delivers.

Why buy Egyptian cotton bedding over normal cotton? Its more expensive but is it worth the extra premium you have to fork out just to have the best sheets? Well in short we would say yes, on first inspection there might not be some very noticeable differences, but when you have used them for a short while you will never go back to standard cotton sheets. But what makes them so expensive I hear you ask? Well the very best cotton is grown on the lush banks of the Nile delta in Egypt, the cotton fields are very well established and they are still hand picked to ensure that the cotton buds are not damaged, they are then sorted by size and quality, the very best and larger buds are reserved for the higher thread count sheets as the longer staple fibres are required to make the stronger yarns needed for percale and sateen weaves.
When is comes to weaving, there are two types that are mainly used for plain cotton sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers. Percale is the more well known weave that is mainly now only used for fabrics with a thread count under 300 threads per square inch, this traditional fabric used both the same amount of yarns on the weft and on the warp, for example a 200 thread count fabric would have 100 yarns on the weft and 100 yarns on warp, to make a really high thread count like a 1000 count cotton fabric would be almost commercially impossible without the use of a sateen weave. A sateen weave will use the same looms as the percale weaves but instead of using the same amount of yarns on the warp and weft they use half the amount on the warp to keep the speed of the loom intact. So for example a 300 thread count sateen weave would have 200 yarns on the warp and 100 yarns on the weft.

A percale weave would have a matt finish whereas a sateen weave has that slight sheen to it, which looks stunning laid on the bed and what makes that 5 star hotel room looks so inviting, as it’s all about aesthetics and this is where a sateen weave wins out. So what we are trying to say is that it is not the weave that makes the fabric so expensive, it’s the quality of the cotton, they way it is harvested and the care and quality required to keep it from being brittle. It is more organically grown too, no fertilisers and harsh caustic chemicals are used, hand picked for extra attention to detail, this results in a fabric that really does last the length of time, will look and feel just as good in 10 years’ time, wash after wash. So if you have never tried Egyptian cotton before, treat yourself, it’s well worth it.
