Why Choose Polycotton Percale Bedding?

If we deal with percale firstly, what is percale? Percale bedding was created to give a more durable and robust fabric that is also soft and comfortable to sleep on. The yarns are more tightly packed and offer a longer life cycle of repeated washing and drying.

Our polycotton bedding is an upgrade on the standard percale fabrics and are a minimum of 200 threads per square inch which gives you that little extra quality and comfort. Polycotton bedding fabrics have long been the staple choice for bed and breakfasts and smaller guest houses, as they offer better value for money than cotton percale bedding, they are more stain resistant and most of all they require less time to launder and iron, saving valuable time when doing changeovers during the busy summer months. Most good quality percale fabrics have easy care, when this treatment is added to the fabric, it makes the bedding minimum iron or even non iron depending on how it is washed and at what temperature and more importantly if it is line dried or tumble dried.

Line drying is preferred on most fabrics as the weight of the fabric on the washing line just allows the creases to drop out. When this is not always possible or convenient, tumble drying on a low to medium setting with easy care also helps make light work of those hard to remove creases. Polycotton does sometimes get a bad reputation for being slightly rough to the feel than say cotton, however this is not the case with a percale fabric as the quality of the polyester is much greater and the cotton portion is mainly combed, to give it a much softer and supple feel.

Once again, if it is longevity and ease of use you are after, a premium quality polycotton percale fabric is the best choice. Other advantages of using polycotton is price, they are often much cheaper to buy that the equivalent cotton fabrics and there is also a bigger choice of brighter and more child friendly colours to brighten up the bedroom. Our full range of polycotton bedding has over 25 modern colours to choose from and a greater choice of nonstandard UK sizes, as well as the larger emperor bedding options.
