Why Choose Hungarian Goose Down Duvets?

We all want the very best quality pure goose down in our duvets but not all down is created equal. When it comes to goose down a branded down is considered the best quality and safest product on the market.

Using a Branded quality like a Hungarian down filling helps to ensure that you are getting what you have paid for.

100% Hungarian goose down provides an even more luxurious choice thanks to its exceptional thermal qualities and softness, you can actually trace the down back to the farm where the geese have been living.

European standards of harvesting, cleanliness and bird protection far outstrip anything that is made in China. Hungary is one of the world leaders when it comes to creating a sustainable and animal friendly product that is also one of the world’s finest goose down.

Our Euroquilt 100% Pure Hungarian Goose Down Duvets are hand filled in Scotland to produce a very high quality duvet that has been manufactured to exacting hotel quality standards.

The cases are expertly woven in Spain from the finest 300 thread count cambric which is both mite and feather proof, complete with cassette stitching and internal baffle walls to ensure that the down stays in place and drapes over your body to give you the very best sleeping experience.

Hungarian Goose Down Fill Power

A Hungarian goose down cluster is larger than most other downs you can buy, the size of the goose down cluster is one of the most significant factors that decides how fluffy the duvet is going to be.

Hungarian goose down clusters are large, they need less down to create the same level of warmth which allows the filling to breathe more naturally.

All the empty space between the clusters creates air pockets, which gives it great insulating properties.

Most good quality Hungarian goose down fillings have a very high fill power rating which give you the best indicator of how good the down really is, our Hungarian goose down filling has a fill power rating of over 750 which means it is very light, extremely clean and free of any contaminates and body matter.

What Makes Hungarian Goose Down So Light and Warm

Another very good reason the fill power is so good, Hungarian goose down is sourced from the geese in the cold climates of Hungary. The colder the climate, the longer and thicker will be the down. Hungarian goose, therefore, offers long goose down clusters. These increase the fill power of the duvet. On the other hand, most of the other goose down products are sourced from other parts of the world where the geese are bred in tropical climates. These geese have short, stubby down clusters. As a result, more goose down is required to fill up the same size duvet or pillow which increases its weight. It also brings down its insulation properties because there are smaller air pockets and therefore reduces the fill power.

Euroquilt Duvet Wash Care Instructions

All Euroquilt Duvets can be machine washed in a suitably large capacity washing machine such as the ones you will find at a high street launderette, washing duvets at home is not ideal for most home domestic washing machines as the drums do not have a large enough capacity for the pillow to move around in the drum properly.

Always follow the wash care label and wash your duvets separately.

Click here to read more about how to care for your Euroquilt Duvets and Pillows.

They can also be tumble dried on a low setting, please note that a home domestic washing machine may not be suitable as the drum capacity needs to be very large such as the ones you will find at a launderette so the duvet has plenty of room to rise and fall in the drum.

This effect stops the duvet from getting too hot and allows for the special fillings to dried out more evenly during the drying process.
