Benefits of Microfibre Anti Allergy Pillows

If you are looking for a new pillow, you will be confronted with a vast array of choices. In this section we will try to give you as much information on synthetic pillows as we can, the choice of fillings available and why anti-allergy micro fibre fillings are becoming more popular. Standard microfibre pillows were once perceived to be a cheap pillow that you could buy at any supermarket or discount store, mainly used for children or a guest bedroom, however these days you would be amazed at what is on offer. Some of our luxury fillings like Aerelle Cool and Dacron Allerban Comforel can be as comfortable as a natural down pillow with the advantages of being hypoallergenic and ideal if you suffer from hot night sweats.

We spend so much time in bed it is good practice to spend some time and pick the right pillow for you. Most pillow options now come with soft, medium and firm fillings so you can get the right support depending on how you sleep. But how about allergies? They are now on the rise due to the way we insulate our homes, the extra heat and moisture is the ideal breeding ground for dust mites, mould and bacteria. If you do not regularly ventilate your home, your bedding and mattress could be at risk of bringing on an allergy attack or just giving you a stuffy nose due to the build-up of dust mite faeces. Synthetic fills can be the logical choice as the manmade fibres will not allow the dust mites to breed or live in the fibres and some are now treated to kill them off and also help prevent the build up of mould and bacteria. So if you suffer from allergies, this type of pillow would be the best choice for you.

One of the other advantages you get with this type of filling is washing. Most manufacturers do not recommend that you wash a natural down or feather pillow because you can damage the fillings if they are not thoroughly dried out properly, causing them to stick together in a clump which is also very uncomfortable to sleep on. Well, you do not get this issue with a synthetic anti-allergy pillow, you can machine wash them at home and either tumble dry or line dry them as many times as you wish. The fillings will not clump together as the better quality pillows have separate fibres that prevent this, once dried they return to a normal loose state, just give them a quick shake to revitalise the fibres and they are as good as new.
